YOUTH LEAGUE DETAILS

Welcome to the "FOR THE CULTURE" Youth Basketball League! We are thrilled to bring a competitive and educational style of basketball to the Treasure Coast and its surrounding areas. The primary focus of our league is to teach our athletes that progression is an integral part of life. We all start from our unique points, but the level of effort and quality work we put in determines our potential. This league was not established to determine who's the best, but rather to help everyone achieve their personal best.

The league is divided into two divisions and will run for 10 weeks. Practices will be held throughout the week, and games will take place on weekends. The Junior Division teams will play first during early time blocks, followed by the Senior Division, which will compete in the afternoon.

Layout of Divisions and Games:Junior Division (4th & 5th Grade)

  • The Junior Division is made up of current 4th and 5th-grade students.
  • Games will be held in a full-court (5-on-5) setting and goals may be lowered if needed. This is to help our younger athletes better grasp the game on a smaller scale before moving into the Senior Division.
  • Games will consist of four quarters, each lasting 7 minutes, with a 2-minute halftime.
  • Teams will have 3 timeouts, each lasting 30 seconds, per game.
  • The Junior division will play with a 28.5 size basketball, and the goals will be adjusted to accommodate our athletes. Our focus here is on form and technique.
  • Grade levels will only compete against the same grade levels.
  • Players cannot be moved up or down in divisions; only the League Director(s) have the authority to make such changes.
  • There is no player trading.
  • Overtime will last 1 minute, and teams will again use "Rock, Paper, Scissors" to determine the initial possession.Senior Division (6th, 7th, & 8th Grade)

The Senior Division consists of current 6th, 7th, & 8th-grade students.

  • Games are played on a full court.
  • Games consist of two 20-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime.
  • All games start with a jump ball.
  • Teams are given 3 timeouts, each lasting 45 seconds, per game.
  • The Senior division plays with a regulation-sized basketball (29.5) and a regulation height rim of 10ft.
  • Grade levels will only compete against the same grade levels.
  • Players cannot be moved up or down in divisions; only the League Director(s) have the authority to make such changes.
  • There is no player trading.
  • Overtime starts with a jump ball, and the winner is determined by the first team to score. One minute is placed on the clock, but it's the first team to score that wins in overtime.
